What will you Learn?
Part 1-Land Lesson / 15 minutes
Lessons start on the beach with 15 minutes of instruction and practice. Students learn techniques for paddling, standing, falling, dodging and selecting waves along with surfer etiquette, stretching and much more.
Part 2-Water Lesson / 45 minutes
After students have learned the techniques on land, we move into the ocean for 45 minutes of guided surf instruction. During this time the instructor will push and coach students into waves, tell students what they are doing right, or wrong so they are surfing on their own by the end of the lesson.
Part 3-Independent Practice
After 1 hour of guided instruction, students have the option of keeping the surfboard and practicing what they learned for an additional hour in front of a lifeguard or surf instructor.

2011 Summer Camp
That’s it grommies- you’ve spent all year looking out the window, checking the winds and dreaming of surfing all day- now it’s time to do it!
• Surf Camp is at 34th Ave S. , South Jax Beach, Florida (Call for exact directions)
• Camp runs from 8:30 am – 11:30 pm on a weekly basis (Camp dates listed -------> )
• Ratio is 1:5
• Camp is for kids from ages 7 yrs old and up.
In one week campers will learn:
• A basic beginners course in surfing (for first time wave shredders)
• An elite course in surfing (for experienced wave hackers)
• Surfing etiquette
• Surf safety, ocean awareness and the beach environment
• Surf forecasting
• Travel Destinations
Limited to 15 Students for each week long surf camp.

Instructor Qualifications:
Each instructor has over 10 years of surfing experience.
Instructors are CPR Certified.
Members of the Eastern Surfing Association.
Member of multiple surfing Organizations.
Instructors have traveled around the world and surfed competitively.
Experienced Early Childhood Educator on staff.

Matt Dowst
Owner and Kiteboarding/Surfing Instructor.
I started surfing at a young age and have had a passion for water sports ever since. I have done everything from competing in Surf Competitions to visiting Australia with the ESA All-Star team. I have built North Florida Kite | Surf into a business dedicated to the customer. In our Instructional programs based out of Jacksonville, FL we do our best to turn our knowledge of the sport into your knowledge of the sport. All of our instructors have many years of experience and are CPR certified. Surfing has played a huge role in my life, and I strongly believe it should be a part of yours!
Pierce Miller
Born and raised in Ormond Beach, Florida. I am currently living in Jacksonville Beach, and attending UNF School of Construction and Engineering. I have grown up around the sport of surfing my entire life. My family has owned and operated Daytona Beach’s most famous surf shop: Salty Dog Surf Shop. I grew up around the shops, and started working there at the age of 15. I started surfing at a very young age, but began taking it seriously when I was about 8. Around that time I also started competing in the surfing organizations: ESA and NSSA events. I am currently on the UNF surf team, where we compete in the NSSA collegiate division. Surfing has taken me to destinations such as Hawaii, California, Central America, and the Caribbean. I have also worked on the beaches in Volusia County as a life guard and have an up to date CPR certification. See you in the water!
